Marvin

Description

Marvin the Paranoid Android (as in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy)* is an illuminated sculpture made  from epoxy-resin, air-dry clay, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), integrated circuits (ICs), capacitors, resistors and stone – all laminated with an acrylic varnish. He stands about 15cm (around 6″) tall and about 10cm (4″) wide, hand-to-hand (as it were). He weights around 200 grams. He’s powered by two easily-replaced watch batteries contained in an external unit.

* Marvin looks nothing like the character from the film of the same name but Douglas Adam’s book is light on details and anyway… Who cares?
